Andre Collin McIntyre

Andre Collin McIntyre

January 10, 1968 in Houston, Texas, Andre Collin McIntyre was born to happy parents, Mary Sparkman and Cara Lemon.  Andre was the third of four children, and the only boy.  His mother describes him as always being a good kid.  As a child, Andre was considered to be very ambitious; he earned money delivering The Houston Chronicle with the assistance of his aunt, Linda Green.  He attended Piney Point Elementary, Sharpstown Jr. High, and Robert E. Lee High School where he excelled in football and baseball.  He graduated from Alief Hastings High School in 1986.  Later Andre attended Barkley Career College where he studied Security and Protective Services.

Dre’ shared many years with Trina Aldridge.  Their relationship produced two beautiful daughters, Keyosha and Andrea.  After a chance meeting on April 21, 1993, Dre’ came to know Bridgett Smith, through mutual friends.  On March 7, 1996, the two became one.  Their relationship was full of immeasurable love.  Andre showered his wife with affection and attention.  They shared their once in a lifetime love for one another and with many others.  The loving couple adopted their two great nieces, Brianna and SaNiyah after the passing of their mother, the late Ursula Regina Autrey, and their relative sons, Trinity Thomas and Philip Earl.  The McIntyre’s home is never an empty house.  It is always full of people and love.  And Andre wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Andre loved to be by the water.  Whether it was cruising to Cozumel, relaxing in Florida, or fishing in the Texas Gulf Coast waters, he longed to be near a beach or body of water.  Even the pool in the couple’s backyard served to be one of his favorite spots.  He enjoyed cooking, and chili and lasagna were his favorite things to prepare.  Watching sports was one of his favorite pastimes.  Andre always rooted for the home teams; The Texans, Astros, and Rockets.  He also rode a Harley Davidson motorcycle or quite some time and hungout with the  Misfits”.

Andre had a big heart, humble spirit and always smiled. He was happiest when he entertained family and friends in his home.  Super Bowl parties, Thanksgiving dinner, or a random get-together is where he shined the brightest.  His freckles moved around to the center of his face, which always indicated to Bridgett that he was in high spirits.  Their home was constantly filled with love and laughter.  He loved to dance, in his mind, his moves were on point, and those closest to him would beg to differ!

According to his mother Mary, Dre’s greatest accomplishments were graduating high school, marrying Bridgett and becoming a loving father and grandfather.  Andre was very proud and loved his offspring unconditionally.

Hardworking, protective, loyal, thoughtful, outspoken and overall AWESOME are words that describe Andre.  Andre was employed by American 3CI.  He later transitioned to Allied Cement Company, where he drove cement trucks for 15 plus years.

Even during his battle with Sarcoma Cancer, Andre remained resilient and never complained.  He fought the fight daily  to live his life and love those that were in it..  With his wife by his side, Dre’ transition on Tuesday, Septmenber 19th.   Dre has joined in heaven, his father: Cara Lemon, his sister: Malorie McMiller, his dearly beloved great grandmother: Albertha Whiting, his mother in law: Erma Jean Moreno, and his father in law: Jimmy Autrey.
